We are currently seeking a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Analyst with strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills to ensure overall project and product quality. This role is responsible for developing and executing manual test cases, identifying and tracking defects, and validating software solutions to meet business, functional, and design requirements.  The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple efforts within a project and release cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, understand and decompose business and technical requirement and design documents to create effective test cases
  • Develop and execute clear, concise manual test cases to measure software quality and compliance with business, functional and design requirements
  • Perform a variety of testing activities, including functional, usability, regression, performance and security testing, as required
  • Clearly document defects to support efficient troubleshooting and resolution
  • Track and monitor defects through resolution, validating fixes and update defect records accordingly
  • Create, manage and maintain test data as needed to support testing efforts
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and status to the Software Quality Assurance Manager as required

The primary objective of this position is to ensure high quality software delivery through thorough manual testing and to prevent defects from reaching client production environments.  This is a full-time remote position that reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.  Some travel to client sites and to Auctor headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana may be required, including occasional overnight travel.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of quality assurance and testing methodologies and industry best practices
  • Proven ability to write and execute detailed test cases to validate both core functionality and new enhancements
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps and GitHub
  • Familiarity with test management tools including Xray or Azure DevOps Test Plans
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, sprints, backlogs, and Agile ceremonies
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile team or Waterfall environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • A self-motivated individual who thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to think creatively and identify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) in test planning or execution activities
  • Knowledge of child support enforcement or government department of transportation systems a plus but not required

 
Education

  • BA/BS in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in a software quality assurance analyst or software testing role
  • ISTQB certification a plus
